DCS Chooses to Dismiss Case
In a case in Nashville, Davidson County, the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services was contacted with claims of abuse to a child by her father. The odd thing was that the case was pending in Circuit Court after a very long divorce.
Based upon the allegations, the Department immediately filed a Petition claiming that the child was in an eminent risk of harm and she must not have any contact with her father. The father’s divorce attorneys immediately contacted Mr. Grimmett.
Mr. Grimmett filed his notice of appearance and immediately asked for all case files regarding the allegations. Upon receiving this information, Mr. Grimmett was able to put together information which caused the Department to immediately non-suit their case. The child was eventually returned to the father.
Fortunately, the father was able to contact an attorney to make sure that he would not lose what was legally his.
